The most common reason people book one of these is a home purchase, and the honest answer about why it is worth doing is that a general home inspection and an electrical inspection are not the same thing.
A general home inspector is a generalist working to a broad checklist, and typically reports what is visible: the panel brand, obvious hazards, whether outlets test correctly. A licensed electrician opens the panel, checks whether connections are tight and correctly torqued, identifies whether that panel brand has known issues, traces which circuits actually serve what, and can tell you whether the grounding electrode system is real or nominal. That is a different depth of information, and on an older property it frequently changes the number.
